2. Telescopic Wind Turbine Towers For Fixed Onshore and Fixed Offshore Wind

Onshore telescopic wind turbine towers allow nacelle and blades to be transported as normal. 


All telescopic tower sections can be transported and upended together and the nacelle and rotor installed on the top section by short boom crane.


The telescopic tower can then be raised to operational height and locked without a crane.  

The tower can later be lowered without a crane and heavy maintenance ca

Telescopic onshore wind turbine towers can be installed and maintain without the need to mobilize a long boom crane. Short boom cranes can upend the telescopic tower and install the nacelle and rotor with the tower low.  

When the nacelle and rotor are installed, the telescopic tower can be raised to its operational height and later lowered for major maintenance.

Telescopic Wind Turbine Tower’s Full Strength Overlapping Joints

When a telescopic tower section is raised to full height and locked to the section below, the overlapping joint section has full bending, torque and axial load strength.


There are many options available for raising the tower sections including: 1) pumping water into the gap between sections. 

2) using jacking systems in the over lapping
